Step by Step Guide

Here are the steps you need to create your first Gold trading robot.

Visit https://claude.ai or any other AI provider like ChatGPT, DeepSeek, etc
Use this sample AI prompt:
“Write an MT5 Expert Advisor that trades gold on the 5-minute chart. Buy when the 5-period EMA crosses above the 20-period EMA, and sell when it crosses below. Use a fixed stoploss of 50 points and a take profit of 100 points. Plots both EMAs on the chart. Include inputs for lot size.“
Open MetaTrader 5 and press F4 to open the MetaEditor.
Click New to open the MQL Wizard.
Enter a name for your robot and click Next, Next and then Finish.
When the code editor appears, delete all the existing content and paste the AI generated code from Claude in the code editor.
Save the code, then click Compile to check for errors.
If there are any errors, go back to Claude to describe the issues and let Claude amend and update the new code.
Repeat steps 6 – 8 until the code compiles successfully.
Then go back to MetaTrader 5 and open a new 5-min XAUUSD chart.
Drag and drop your new Robot expert advisor onto the 5-min chart.
Check the Input settings of the expert advisor and adjust the lot size as necessary. Go to the Common setting and click Allow Algo Trading.
To start trading live, click the Algo Trading button on the MT5 Toolbar.

Please note that this is a basic trading robot. You will need to backtest the strategy and make improvements if necessary.
